France Women claimed the fifth Grand Slam in their history with victory of Wales in the final round of games and the FFR have given fans a real insight into the trip to Colwyn Bay.

Les Bleues produced a fine display to see off Wales 38-3 in clinching that Slam, scoring six tries in all.

And on the video we get the chance to see the side go through their final preparations, from a warm-up in the morning to getting strapped up later in the afternoon.

Coach Samuel Cherouk spoke to his players beforehand, preparing them mentally for the encounter.

He said: “You’ve made sacrifices, your family has made sacrifices. They are waiting for that explosion of joy at the end of the game. You have the chance to make your family happy. That’s perhaps the most important thing.

“Today, if you want to create some memories, go for it. There’s one match left.”

As well as warming up in the centre of Colwyn Bay, the French even braved a little dip into the sea, while the video also reveals their key mantras – ‘hungry and humble’ and ‘simple, fast, strong’.

After the game, team manager Annick Hayraud spoke to the team and expressed her gratitude at the work put in by the entire squad on the way to the historic title.

She said: “Today it’s a lovely reward that you really deserve for the work you have put in, for all the sacrifices you make every day and for all the joy that you bring us.

“The staff is so proud to spend this time with you because you teach us a lot and we grow from every time we see you. So congratulations, what you’ve done is great.”
