How social media reacted to Round 3 of the Women’s Six Nations

Another busy weekend of Women’s Six Nations action saw England augment their position at the top of the standings, while France keep up the chase just behind.

On a Sunday that saw Italy’s clash against Scotland postponed due to an increase of Covid-19 cases in the Milan area, the two remaining games nevertheless delivered on entertainment.

France kicked off the day in style, beating Wales 50-0 on the road, before England responded in kind to topple Ireland 27-0 in Doncaster.

Here’s how social media reacted.

France toasted victory with a traditional post-match selfie.

Annick Hayraud was full of praise for her charges after the whistle.

And their fans were in fine voice all afternoon at Cardiff Arms Park.

Though Wales were beaten on the day, Kelsey Jones stressed that they’ll soon be back and stronger than ever.

England celebrated a third win from three as they continue their Women’s Six Nations title defence in style.

Skipper – and try-scorer – Sarah Hunter hailed a solid defensive display from the Red Roses.

Meanwhile Eimear Considine believes that Ireland can take positives from their second-half display.

And Ireland legend Niamh Briggs was quick to back that up.
