Hayraud names strong side for Scotland clash

Annick Hayraud has named a powerful starting XV for France ahead of their return to Women’s Six Nations action against Scotland on Sunday.

Pauline Bourdon will feature at scrum-half for the French side as they travel to Scotstoun this weekend, partnered by Blagnac SCR’s Audrey Abadie at fly-half.

Cyrielle Banet will be looking to add to the four tries she had already scored in this year’s Championship when she lines up on the wing for Hayraud’s side, with Marine Menager lining up on the opposing flank.

Jessy Tremouliere will once again be on goal-kicking duties in Glasgow, as Gaëlle Hermet captains the side.

France travel will be looking to end the Championship on a high, as they currently sit second in the table with two matches left to play, albeit eight points behind current leaders England.

A Championship victory isn’t completely off the cards before action resumes, although the Red Roses would have to be come out of next weekend’s clash with Italy pointless for that to be the case.

And Hayraud is preparing her continue the Championships where they left off in February, as Les Bleus secured back to back victories over Italy and Wales before play came to a halt.

“There is a story to be finished,” the France boss said. “We left suddenly in frustration at not being able to play. We are lucky to be able to finish this competition. We have a second place to go.”
