Social media was buzzing as England started their defence of the TikTok Six with an emphatic 57-5 victory over Scotland in Edinburgh.
Later on Saturday afternoon a vastly improved Wales side enjoyed a first competition win since 2019 with a 27-19 victory in Ireland.
In the weekend’s final game, France notched an impressive 39-6 bonus-point win over a spirited Italy side.
We begin with England, as they celebrated a nine-try win north of the border.

Three of those scores came courtesy of Player of the Match, Marlie Packer, who also completed all 24 of her attempted tackles.
What a performance from @MarliePacker 👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/WYvVkjl9Ry

Packer’s performance certainly seemed to be a source of inspiration for some young fans of the game.
After watching the @EnglandRugby #RedRoses game my 12 year old daughter Mia has just said she’s letting her inner @MarliePacker out today 🏉 after 8 years of cheerleading it’s her 1st ever rugby game /tournament for @FaringdonRUFC she is extremely excited #prouddad #thisgirlcan

The game also marked the return of Emily Scarratt to the England midfield, and the Loughborough centre put in a typically solid performance after suffering a leg break in September.
Back on the pitch and making an impact 🔥

The day was even more special for 20-year-old Meryl Smith, who made her debut in front of a raucous home crowd.
There’s nothing like earning your first cap in front of a home crowd 🙌

It was ultimately England who were celebrating, and they even found time for an ice cream before travelling home.

Former Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips and actor Aneurin Barnard were just some of those who were keen to praise the rejuvenated national side.
Really enjoyed watching the Women’s 6 Nations yesterday. What a win for @WelshRugbyUnion to start the campaign! Good luck in Cardiff this week. 👍🏴 👏

Another former British and Irish Lion in attendance was Brian O’Driscoll, who didn’t seem too impressed with Lindsay Peat’s TikTok skills!

But the day will perhaps be most fondly remembered for the record crowd in attendance.
“No one watches women’s rugby” 🥴
Try telling that to the record breaking crowd at the RDS yesterday 👀
Listen to the ROAR of the crowd, this game is only going to grow and this is just the start 🔥

France, who are seeking their first title since 2018, won in large thanks to a late flurry of scores, with the pick of the tries this wonderful finish from Emilie Boulard.
