Marlie Packer’s Super Saturday try against France has been voted the Breitling #DefiningMoment of the 2023 TikTok Women’s Six Nations.
England led 5-0 in the Grand Slam decider at Twickenham when the Red Roses skipper received an offload from Tatyana Heard inside the French 22.
She managed to escape the first attempted tackle before stepping inside the remaining defenders and forcing her way over, releasing a guttural roar into the South-West London sky after touching down.
Her try was one of four for the hosts in a rampant first half and though France hit back strongly after the break, England held on to win 38-33 and secure another Grand Slam in front of a world record crowd.
Packer’s try beat off competition from a string of high-class nominees for the #DefiningMoment prize, with Mélissande Llorens’ superb assist for Gaëlle Hermet’s try against Scotland, Sisilia Tuipulotu’s Round 1 score against Ireland and Chloe Rollie’s moment of magic in Round 5, also against Ireland, the remaining contenders.
